2010 Winter Dive Team
Format
Fall and Winter diving is designed for divers who want to improve their diving skills in a safe, fun and non-competitive environment. Divers will learn the basics of springboard diving including: the proper use of the diving board, front and back jumps, the diving hurdle, as well as required and optional dives. Each diver will work at his or her own ability. The diving format at Newport Hills focuses on skill mastery first, followed by learning new dives second, all in a safe and fun environment for every participant.
About our Coach
Hi! My name is Jessi Stix and I just graduated from the University of Southern California. I started my diving career at Newport Hills when I was 13 years old, and went on to dive for four years at Liberty High School and three years with the Pacific Northwest Diving club. I’ve coached at the Mercerwood Shore Club for four summers and helped out at the Newport Hills Dive Camp this last August 2010. I love introducing kids to the sport of diving and helping them develop skills in a fun and safe way! I enjoy traveling and have studied International Business in Barcelona, Spain and recently got home from a three month backpacking trip to sixteen countries. Hope to see your family around the pool!
