Hello everyone! I’m McKenna Troje, your dive coach this summer at Newport Hills. I’m very excited to be able to coach this summer and wanted to introduce myself a little. I just graduated from Cal Poly with a degree in Chemistry and will be attending UW this fall to begin my masters in material science and engineering. I’m originally from the great pacific northwest and am looking forward to being back in the emerald city. I myself participated in the Midlakes dive program for many years and then continued on to dive for Sammamish High School. I dove varsity all four years and won the state championship my senior year. I then took the opportunity to dive NCAA Division I for Cal Poly my freshman year before ending my time in the world of diving as an athlete. The following summer I was able to coach the dive team for Phantom Lake Club and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I then had to step away from diving as a coach in order to concentrate on research projects at various universities the next two summers which is why I’m looking forward to being able to participate in the sport once again as a coach. It’s going to be a great summer where hopefully we can learn some cool new dives and have a blast while doing it. |
